This category holds event entities relevant to medical history: an epidemic or pandemic, the discovery of a treatment or the isolation of a disease-causing organism, a landmark clinical trial, or the founding of a major medical institution. The wider social or political context of an event belongs to the History atlas under the family's cross-atlas seam; this atlas records only the medical facet of the event and connects out rather than duplicating the fuller narrative held elsewhere.
