Biofeedback

Complementary and Manual Therapies

Biofeedback is a technique for gaining greater awareness of physiological functions of one own body using electronic or other instruments, with the goal of learning to control the body systems at will. As a clinical treatment, it is used to help patients gain voluntary control over processes such as brainwaves, muscle tone, skin conductance, heart rate and pain perception, which are otherwise regulated largely below conscious awareness.
