Water Ionizer

A water ionizer is a home appliance that claims to raise the pH of drinking water using electrolysis to separate the incoming water stream into acidic and alkaline components, producing what is marketed as alkaline water. Proponents claim that drinking alkaline water provides a variety of health benefits, similar to claims made for alkaline diets, but such claims violate principles of chemistry and physiology. There is no medical evidence for any health benefit of alkaline water, and extensive scientific evidence has left these claims in the pseudoscientific realm.
