Barre-Lieou syndrome is a traditional medical diagnosis, now rarely used in modern medicine, describing a complex combination of symptoms amounting to a headache syndrome. It was originally hypothesized to result from cervical spondylosis, with degeneration of the cervical vertebrae and prolapse of a cervical disc theorized to damage the posterior cervical sympathetic chain, but the medical theory as first proposed was later found to contain inconsistencies.
