Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2, abbreviated MEN2, is a group of medical disorders linked to tumors of the endocrine system. The tumors may be benign or malignant, and they usually arise in endocrine organs such as the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands, though they can also appear in endocrine tissue of organs not classically thought of as endocrine. MEN2 is a sub-type of the wider multiple endocrine neoplasia group and has sub-types of its own. It is also known as Sipple syndrome. Variants in MEN2A have been associated with Hirschsprung disease, and screening for pheochromocytoma can begin from about eight years of age. It is a separate condition from multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1.
