Lethal Congenital Contracture Syndrome

Congenital Malformations and Chromosomal Abnormalities

Lethal congenital contracture syndrome, also called multiple contracture syndrome, Finnish type, is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder marked by total immobility of a fetus, detectable by around the thirteenth week of pregnancy. It invariably leads to prenatal death before the thirty-second gestational week. It is counted among the forty Finnish heritage diseases, was first described in 1985, and roughly seventy cases have been diagnosed since.
