Burnside-Butler syndrome is a name applied to the effects of a microdeletion of DNA sequences involving four neurodevelopmental genes. Varying developmental and psychiatric disorders have been attributed to the deletion, though the great majority of people who carry it show no associated clinical features, and researchers say more study is needed to define its true range of presentation.
