Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation

Physical Rehabilitation Therapy

Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation, also called posterior tibial nerve stimulation, is the least invasive form of neuromodulation used to treat overactive bladder and its associated symptoms of urinary urgency, urinary frequency and urge incontinence, symptoms that may also occur with interstitial cystitis or following prostatectomy. Outside the United States it is also used to treat fecal incontinence, and it can function as a primary therapy offering an alternative to pharmaceutical approaches for these conditions.
