Transmyocardial laser revascularization is a procedure used to treat inoperable heart disease in people with persistent angina that has not been relieved by any other method of restoring blood flow. Where standard treatments such as angioplasty, stenting, or bypass surgery have been exhausted, the procedure uses laser therapy to create channels in the heart muscle that deliver blood to regions left untreated by conventional interventions.
