Urostomy

Surgical Procedure

A urostomy is a surgical procedure that creates a stoma, an artificial opening, for the urinary system. It provides a route for diverting urine when normal drainage through the bladder and urethra is not possible, for example following extensive pelvic surgery or in cases of urinary tract obstruction.
