Antoni Cieszyński was a Polish physician, dentist and surgeon who spent his academic career in Lviv, where he became a professor and headed the Institute of Stomatology at the university. In 1930 he became editor and publisher of the journal Polska Dentystyka, which was later renamed Polska Stomatologia and then Słowiańska Stomatologia. His recorded contributions to dentistry include the rules of isometry, which let the bisecting angle technique reproduce dimensions accurately in dental x-radiology, and extraoral techniques of anaesthesia. He was among the Polish university professors summarily executed by German forces in Lviv in July 1941, in the massacre of the Lviv professors. This entry rests on the opening of one encyclopedia article and records only what that article states.
