Benign lymphoepithelial lesion, historically called Mikulicz disease after Polish surgeon Jan Mikulicz-Radecki, is a benign inflammatory condition causing painless enlargement of major exocrine glands, especially the parotid and lacrimal glands, often linked to Sjogrens syndrome and now classified as a form of IgG4-related disease. Long-standing cases carry an increased risk of progressing to a marginal zone B-cell lymphoma.
