Buerger's disease, medically known as thromboangiitis obliterans and also called Winiwarter-Buerger disease, is a recurring, progressive inflammation and clotting of the small and medium arteries and veins of the hands and feet. It is strongly associated with tobacco use, primarily smoking, but is also linked to smokeless tobacco.
