Vitritis

Vitritis is an inflammation of the vitreous characterized by white blood cells in the vitreous. It is a form of uveitis and is associated with anterior uveitis and, more commonly, with intermediate or posterior uveitis. It has to be told apart from other kinds of cells in the vitreous cavity, namely red blood cells (vitreous hemorrhage), pigment cells (retinal tear) and tumor cells (lymphoma, retinoblastoma, choroidal melanoma).
