Entropion is a condition in which the eyelid folds inward, which is very uncomfortable because the eyelashes continuously rub against the cornea and cause irritation. It is usually caused by genetic factors and can affect the upper or lower eyelid of one or both eyes. Repeated cases of trachoma infection may cause scarring of the inner eyelid that in turn causes entropion, and the condition is most common in people over 60.
