Susanna Way Dodds (1830 to 1911) was an American physician who is remembered as a hydrotherapist and a proponent of natural hygiene. Hydrotherapy is the therapeutic use of water, and natural hygiene was a health reform movement that favored diet, exercise and fresh air over drugs. Her Wikipedia lead places her at the meeting point of orthodox medical training and the nineteenth century water cure and hygiene reform tradition, which the Medicine Atlas records as part of the history of what was once held about healing. It is a record of what was held and practiced, not medical advice, and further detail is left for a later depth pass.
