Benno Reinhardt (1819 to 1852) was a German physician who worked as prosector at the Charité hospital in Berlin. Born at Neustrelitz, the son of a pharmacist, he studied medicine at Berlin under teachers such as Friedrich Henle and Johannes Müller, where he met Rudolf Virchow, and he also studied at Halle. He took his doctorate in 1844 with a treatise on the symptoms of peritonitis, became a lecturer in 1849 and succeeded Virchow as prosector, a post he held until his death from tuberculosis of the lung at the age of thirty two. He specialized in pathological anatomy and in 1847 co-founded with Virchow the journal that later became Virchows Archiv; his studies were edited after his death by Rudolf Leubuscher.
