Lydia Sayer Hasbrouck (1827 to 1910) was an American hydrotherapist and an advocate for women's dress reform. She founded and edited The Sibyl, a periodical devoted to that cause. Elected to the Middletown, New York, Board of Education in 1880, she was one of the first women to hold elected office in the United States. Her record joins the water-cure practice of her century with public reform work, and the atlas notes both. This entry describes a historical figure and is not medical advice.
