Ivan Alev was a Bulgarian medical doctor and a worker of the Bulgarian national liberation movement in Macedonia. He was born in about 1851 in Gumendzhe, now Goumenissa in the Kilkis regional unit of Greece, then in the Ottoman Empire, and finished medicine in Athens before returning to practice in his native town. He was one of the first doctors to work in the Bulgarian Exarchate school system in Ottoman Macedonia, later moved to Kukush, and was trusted by the Internal Macedonian-Adrianople Revolutionary Organization, treating its sick and wounded members. He served as a divisional doctor in the Bulgarian army during the wars for national unification, settled in Nevrokop as a regional doctor after the First World War and died in 1919.
