Bruno Otto Fleischer (1874 to 1965) was a German ophthalmologist, born on 2 May 1874 and died on 26 March 1965. His name survives in two medical eponyms, the Kayser-Fleischer ring and the Fleischer ring, both named for him because of his research into pediatric patients with neurodegenerative disorders whose illness showed signs in the eye. The source article also lists a 1990 letter in The Lancet by Dening and Berrios titled Eponymous confusion over Bruno Fleischer, which points to some uncertainty in the literature about how these eponyms are attributed. The lead of the source article supports little more than this, so the entry stays short until fuller biographical sources are read.
