Walter Sonntag was a physician who served the Nazi regime and carried out experiments on prisoners in concentration camps. He lived from 13 May 1907 to 17 September 1948. According to the source he extracted healthy teeth from victims without anaesthetic and killed some by injecting petrol and phenol into their veins. At Ravensbruck he experimented on interned women while seeking a cure for gonorrhoea and syphilis. He was convicted of war crimes at the Hamburg Ravensbruck trials and executed at Hamelin. He is recorded here as a warning about medicine abused against people who could not refuse, not as a contributor to healing.
