Francesco Racanelli (1904 to 1978) was an Italian doctor, healer and writer who developed an unconventional therapy he named bio-radiant medicine, in Italian medicina bioradiante. He was born in Sannicandro di Bari in Puglia. According to the source, he believed he had a gift, which he later called bio-radiant energy, and that a vital fluid emanated from particularly gifted people. He began treating people on that basis and was prosecuted for the illegal practice of medicine. To avoid further legal trouble he studied medicine and qualified as a doctor. He then worked as a healer and lecturer in Florence and treated wounded people there during the liberation of Italy. He wrote several books, some translated into French and German, among them Il dono della guarigione (1949), Medicina bioradiante (1951) and L'altra medicina (1978). He died in Orbetello in 1978. The source describes his therapy as unconventional and gives no evidence of its effectiveness; this entry records what he claimed and practised, not a medical endorsement.
