Georges Burou (1910 to 1987) was a French gynecologist who ran a clinic, the Clinique du Parc, in Casablanca, Morocco. Born at Tarbes and raised in Algiers, where his parents taught school, he trained in medicine at the University of Algiers and specialized in gynecology and obstetrics, and he served as a military surgeon with French forces in the Second World War. In the 1950s he developed, independently, the penile skin flap inversion technique for vaginoplasty, later treated as the standard method of skin-lined vaginoplasty for trans women, and he reported his experience in 1973 and presented the technique publicly in 1974. His clinic also carried on ordinary obstetric and gynecologic care. He died by drowning in 1987 near Mohammedia in Morocco.
