Dattatraya Sadashiv Parchure (1902 to 1985) was a physician from a Kokanastha Brahmin family in Maharashtra who trained in modern medicine, receiving an MBBS from Grant Medical College in Bombay, and practised at a Bombay hospital until 1935. By 1937 he had become disillusioned with Western medicine and began practising Ayurvedic medicine in Gwalior, where he specialised in the care of children. He is also remembered as a Hindu Mahasabha organiser who founded a paramilitary body in Gwalior, and as one of those tried over the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi: sentenced to life imprisonment by a lower court, he was acquitted on appeal in 1949. He later resumed his medical practice in Gwalior. Nothing here is medical advice.
