Viktor von Hacker (1852 to 1933) was an Austrian surgeon, born in Vienna. He received his medical doctorate at the University of Vienna in 1878 and stayed there as an assistant to the surgeon Theodor Billroth. He later served as professor of surgery at the University of Innsbruck from 1894 to 1903 and at the University of Graz from 1904 to 1924. He is remembered for his work on esophagoscopy, esophageal surgery and gastrointestinal surgery. With the German-American surgeon Carl Beck he is credited with developing a surgical technique for balanic hypospadias. In 1885 he assisted Billroth in the first resection of the pylorus followed by a posterior gastrojejunostomy, and afterwards wrote a detailed account of the operation. With the surgeon Georg Lotheissen he published two treatises on the esophagus, one on its congenital malformations, injuries and diseases and one on its surgery.
