Karolinska University Hospital

Karolinska University Hospital is a teaching hospital affiliated with the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, operating from two major sites in the municipalities of Solna and Huddinge. It was formed through a 2004 merger of Huddinge University Hospital and Karolinska Hospital, and is Sweden's second largest hospital network by bed capacity, with roughly one thousand three hundred and forty beds and some fifteen to sixteen thousand staff, providing pediatric services through the Astrid Lindgren Children's Hospital in Solna and a children's facility in Huddinge. Since 2021 the hospital network has consistently ranked among the top ten hospitals in the world according to Newsweek, and its Solna campus underwent a major modernization considered one of the most expensive building projects in the world, completed in 2018.
