King's College Hospital is a major teaching hospital and major trauma centre in Denmark Hill, Camberwell, in south London, operated as an NHS Foundation Trust with around nine hundred and fifty beds and serving as a tertiary referral centre for specialist services across southern England. It is affiliated with King's College London School of Medicine, forms part of the King's Health Partners academic health science centre, and shares medical education responsibilities with Guy's Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital, specializing in liver disease, neurology, neurosurgery, dentistry, and trauma medicine. Originally established in 1840 at Portugal Street, it relocated to its current Denmark Hill site in 1913, and it is designated a major trauma centre for both adult and pediatric patients.
