Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is a medical provider with multiple hospitals, clinics, and facilities across Nashville, Tennessee, and Middle Tennessee, operating as an independent nonprofit organization that, while legally and financially separate from Vanderbilt University since 2016, continues to staff the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and School of Nursing through its clinicians. Branded as Vanderbilt Health, the system encompasses roughly one thousand seven hundred licensed hospital beds across nine hospital systems and forty eight locations, employs about forty thousand people, and handles more than three million patient visits a year. It holds Level I trauma centre status and National Cancer Institute recognition, and ranks among the top ten medical institutions nationally for research funding from the National Institutes of Health.
