NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is a nonprofit academic medical center in New York City and one of the world's largest hospitals, with more than six thousand five hundred affiliated physicians, twenty thousand employees, and over four thousand beds spread across nine campuses in the New York metropolitan area. Its two flagship centers, Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center, sit on opposite sides of Upper Manhattan, and the hospital serves as the primary teaching hospital for both Weill Cornell Medicine and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, which remain academically autonomous while coordinating clinical and research work together. It treats roughly three hundred and ten thousand emergency patients and delivers about fifteen thousand babies annually, and it was formally established in 1998 through the merger of New York Hospital, founded in 1771, and Presbyterian Hospital, founded in 1868.
