The Global Action Fund for Fungal Infections, known as GAFFI, is an international foundation focused on raising awareness of fungal disease and collecting worldwide data on it. Its Wikipedia article says its aim is to make reliable and inexpensive diagnostic tests widely available. In 2015 GAFFI proposed action to make affordable fungal diagnostic tests and antifungal treatments available to 95 percent of the world's population by 2025. In 2018 it calculated that around one billion people have fungal infections of the skin, more than one million people become blind from fungal keratitis, more than 10 million develop lung disease after breathing in fungal spores, and more than 300 million have a severe fungal infection each year, of whom over 1.5 million die.
