University of Oxford Medical Sciences Division

The Medical Sciences Division is the largest of the four academic divisions of the University of Oxford, formed in 2000 to oversee the university's clinical and pre-clinical academic departments and internationally recognized as a centre of excellence for biomedical and clinical research and teaching. It comprises sixteen core departments together with the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, including the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine, the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, the Radcliffe Department of Medicine, the Department of Oncology, and the Department of Paediatrics, among others, and employs several thousand academics, researchers, and professional staff alongside thousands of graduate and undergraduate students drawn from more than a hundred countries. In the mid-2020s the division was ranked first in the world for medicine, across clinical, pre-clinical, and health disciplines, for many consecutive years.
