All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, generally known as AIIMS Delhi, is a public medical university and hospital regarded as one of the leading public medical research institutions in India, established in 1956 under the AIIMS Act and operating as an autonomous body under India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Its main campus lies in the Ansari Nagar area of South Delhi and spans more than two hundred acres across several sub-campuses, providing tertiary healthcare, medical education, and specialized training through some three thousand six hundred beds; in a recent year it handled roughly 4.8 million outpatient visits and more than 360,000 inpatient admissions. AIIMS Delhi is consistently ranked the top medical college in India by national ranking bodies, and its motto holds that the body is the primary instrument of duty.
