Carl Heinrich Schultz (1805 to 1867) was a German physician and botanist, known as Schultz Bipontinus, a Latinized reference to his birthplace Zweibrücken that distinguished him from another German botanist of the same name, called Schultzenstein. He studied medicine and the sciences at Erlangen from 1825 and at Munich from 1827, made a study trip to Paris in 1830, and then settled into a medical practice in Munich. He was imprisoned for political reasons from 1832 to 1835 and afterwards worked for many years as a physician at the Deidesheim hospital, from 1836 until his death. He specialized in the Compositae and was the taxonomic author of many species in the family. In 1840, together with twenty five other scholars, he founded POLLICHIA, a scientific society of the Palatinate. He died in Deidesheim.
