Autologous immune enhancement therapy, abbreviated AIET, is a cancer treatment in which immune cells are removed from a patient's own body, cultured and processed outside the body to strengthen their activity against tumor cells, and then reinfused into that same patient. It relies on the immune system's own cells, antibodies and organs, which normally defend the body against tumor cells as well as bacteria and viruses.
