Cancer Immunotherapy

Oncologic Therapy

Cancer immunotherapy, also called immuno-oncotherapy, is the stimulation of a patient's own immune system to treat cancer by improving the immune system's natural ability to fight the disease. It applies the basic science of cancer immunology and forms a growing subspecialty of oncology, distinct from cancer itself, the disease it targets.
