Cryoimmunotherapy, also called cryoimmunology, is a cancer treatment that combines cryoablation of a tumor with immunotherapy. Cryoablation alone can trigger an immunostimulatory, systemic anti-tumor response by acting as an in-vivo tumor lysate vaccine, but on its own may produce an insufficient immune response; combining it with immunotherapy is intended to strengthen that response for treating metastatic disease.
