Cellular and Disease Pathologists

Pathologists who defined diseases by what they do to cells and tissues: Virchow and cellular pathology, Golgi and Cajal in the microscopic study of the nervous system, Hodgkin and Wilks in the description of lymph and kidney disease, Papanicolaou and his smear, Hashimoto and Eberth in thyroid and typhoid pathology and Robin Warren in the discovery of Helicobacter. A person belongs here when the cited article describes a pathologist or histologist of the modern period. It excludes the earlier anatomists.
