Prehabilitation, also called preoperative rehabilitation or prehab, is a healthcare intervention carried out before a medical or surgical procedure with the goal of reducing side effects and complications and improving recovery afterward. It typically involves a multidisciplinary team that can include physiotherapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, physicians, pharmacologists, anesthesiologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and sports physiologists.
