Infiltration Analgesia

Perioperative and Anesthetic Care

Infiltration analgesia is the deposition of a pain relieving drug close to the apex of a tooth root so that it can diffuse to reach the nerve entering the apical foramen, numbing the nerve supply to that individual tooth. It is the technique most routinely used in dental local treatment, applied across oral surgery, restorative dentistry, periodontal treatment and prosthetic dentistry, and is regarded as a safe and effective way of managing everyday dental pain and procedures.
