A fascia iliaca block is a local anesthetic nerve block, a form of regional anesthesia, used to numb the hip and thigh by affecting the femoral, obturator, and lateral cutaneous nerves. It can be performed either with ultrasound guidance or using a loss of resistance technique, sometimes called the two pop method.
