Cardiovascular Drug Therapy

Drug therapies that act on the heart, blood vessels and blood clotting system. This includes blood pressure and heart rhythm drugs such as ACE inhibitor therapy, beta-blocker therapy, antiarrhythmic therapy and antihypertensive therapy, cholesterol and lipid drugs such as statin therapy, clotting-related drugs such as anticoagulant therapy, antiplatelet therapy and thrombolytic therapy, and fluid balance drugs such as diuretic therapy and vasopressor and vasodilator therapy. Drugs primarily aimed at another organ system, even when the heart and vessels are secondarily involved, are grouped under that system instead.
