EPOCH is an intensive chemotherapy regimen used to treat aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is often combined with the monoclonal antibody rituximab, in which case it is called R-EPOCH or EPOCH-R. Its component drugs are etoposide, a topoisomerase inhibitor; prednisolone, a corticosteroid; Oncovin, also known as vincristine, which prevents microtubule formation and mitosis; cyclophosphamide, an alkylating agent; and hydroxydaunorubicin, also known as doxorubicin, an anthracycline antibiotic that intercalates DNA.
