FOLFIRINOX

FOLFIRINOX is a chemotherapy regimen for treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer, made up of four drugs: folinic acid, also known as leucovorin, which enhances the effect of fluorouracil; fluorouracil, a pyrimidine analog and antimetabolite that incorporates into the DNA molecule and stops DNA synthesis; irinotecan, a topoisomerase inhibitor that prevents DNA from uncoiling and duplicating; and oxaliplatin, a platinum based antineoplastic agent that inhibits DNA repair and synthesis.
