Applied kinesiology, also known as muscle testing, is a pseudoscience based technique used in alternative medicine. Its practitioners claim to diagnose illness and select treatment by testing the strength or weakness of muscles in the patient, on the premise that a weak muscle response points to an underlying health problem elsewhere in the body. The technique has no accepted scientific basis for these diagnostic or therapeutic claims.
