Zero Balancing

Historical and Premodern Treatment Practice

Zero balancing is a type of manual therapy devised by American osteopathic physician Frederick Fritz Smith in the 1970s. Drawing on principles of osteopathy, Chinese medicine and Structural Integration, Smith proposed that the energy field within the human body could be affected by manual manipulation to bring health benefits, and the practice teaches that currents of energy stored within the human skeleton affect both physical and mental wellbeing.
