Triple arthrodesis is a surgical procedure performed to relieve pain in the rear portion of the foot, improve the foot's stability, and in some cases correct a foot deformity. It works by fusing the three main joints of the hindfoot, the subtalar joint, the calcaneocuboid joint and the talonavicular joint, into a single solid structure. The operation is most commonly carried out on patients whose joints have degenerated from arthritis or who have a severe flatfoot deformity.
