Curative care, also called curative medicine, is health care given for a medical condition where a cure is considered achievable, aimed at eliminating the disease and restoring the patient to health. It differs from preventive care, which works to stop a disease from appearing through measures such as immunization, exercise and healthy habits, and from palliative care, which concentrates on reducing the severity of symptoms such as pain rather than on removing the underlying disease.
