Treatments delivered chiefly as a drug or biologic agent administered systemically to treat or manage disease. Belongs here: Antibiotics, Antimalarial Therapy, Antiretroviral Therapy, Insulin Therapy and Statin Therapy. Does not belong here: Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy, which are drug- and radiation-based but grouped separately under oncologic therapy because their organizing principle is the cancer indication rather than the drug class, or a preventive drug given to the well rather than the sick, grouped under preventive and immunologic intervention.
