Postural restoration is a posture-based approach to physical medicine whose advocates claim it improves postural adaptations, respiratory function and asymmetrical movement patterns. It uses manual and non-manual exercise techniques intended to reposition, retrain and restore these asymmetrical patterns and to maximize neutrality in the body, and is used by some physical therapists and athletic trainers, though there is little strong evidence that any specific posture leads to better medical outcomes.
