Bronchiectasis is a disease in which parts of the airways of the lung become permanently enlarged. Symptoms typically include a chronic cough with mucus production, along with shortness of breath, coughing up blood, and chest pain; wheezing and nail clubbing may also occur. People with the disease often develop lung infections.
